DIRECTOR OF BUILDINGS & GROUNDS
Graham Windham
, one of NY’s most dynamic non-profit organizations, seeks a qualified professional to oversee the management of maintenance and engineering at
The Graham School
, a 26 acre Graham-Windham Residential Treatment Center for Adolescents in foster care.
The Director will have the following responsibilities:
*Provide engineering support.
*Establishes and maintains relationship with external vendors, agencies and other resources that relate to maintenance and repairs of the campus physical plant.
*Establishes and maintains liaison with administrative staff in delivering/ coordinating maintenance and repairing activities.
*Generate correspondence, administrative documents (work orders, purchase requests, check request, reports, etc.) and related documentation as assigned in a timely manner.
*Supervise, train and evaluate maintenance personnel to include supervisors, electricians, plumbers, painters, carpenters, ground workers, general maintenance workers and clean coordinators.
*Supervise the workshop and all work performed by maintenance employees.
*Plan budget, control and implement cost saving measures.
*Adhere to a planned maintenance schedule: and initiates preventive maintenance schedules for the campus physical plant to include buildings, grounds, HVAC systems, fire safety systems, agency vehicles, pool and equipment.
*Be on call every third week & coordinate on call schedule for campus. Carry & respond to agency cell phone unless off.
*Evaluate weather & have snow emergency removal in place in anticipation of pending storms. Must keep campus open & safe for travel & walking.
Qualifications:
*High School Diploma or technical degree.
*A minimum of five years of supervisory & facilities maintenance experience required. A valid state driver’s license is required.
